We recognize that there are several companies that operate guided trips on the Verde River, as well as many other outdoor activities to choose from in this remarkable valley. The Clarkdale Kayak Company is much more than just a tour business. We’d like to take a minute to tell you what sets us apart from our competition.
We don’t just meet you at the river and launch your boats. We have an established base of operations in a historic downtown Clarkdale brick building that includes a small retail store.
The Clarkdale Kayak Company is a family run business along with a cadre of dedicated team members. They each put their heart and soul into this business in order to pass on to you a little bit of their passion towards the Verde River, this Valley, and the amazing life it provides
Our inventory consists of over 40 current model NRS and Dagger boats. As well as brand new paddles, PFDs, and throw-bags—everything is up-to-date and well maintained. Our shuttle vans are clean, comfortable and in great condition.
All of our guides have Guide Certification, First-Aid Certification, as well as extensive training and experience on the Verde River @ Clarkdale stretch. We have developed our own curriculum and protocol for guide training and hold our guides to a very high standard.
The town of Clarkdale only offers roughly 9,000 annual customer units to float and enjoy the Clarkdale stretch of Verde River. Clarkdale Kayak Company possesses over half of the available units.
This stretch of the Verde is beautiful, diverse and wild. Other stretches that offer kayak trips in the Verde Valley (Clear Creek to Beasley Flats) have more of a residential development along the river. The Verde River @ Clarkdale stretch is true wilderness boating—with the most historic and cultural elements—and you don’t have to take a 45 minute shuttle ride! It’s a quick 8 minutes from the base of operations to the launch point.
